We are the International Institute for Building Biology & Ecology
Our mission, now in its 32nd year, is to help create healthy homes, schools, and workplaces, free of toxins in the indoor air and tapwater, and electromagnetic pollutants.
We accomplish this by guiding the general public and working professionals (architects, builders, engineers, interior design professionals, physicians and other health care practitioners, etc.) to an understanding of the vital, complex relationship between the natural and built environments, and teach them the means for merging these complementary environments into greater harmony.
We were founded in 1987, based on the Principles of Bau-Biologie (Building Biology), brought from Germany to North America and the rest of the English-speaking world by the renowned architect Helmut Ziehe.
Our seminars and conference convey Continuing Education Units accepted by: American Institute of Architects (AIA), Indoor Air Quality Association (ACAC), and International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI).
