POEM ninety-fifth (excerpt)
A hunger for all, a hunger for all.
Hungry you are, than you think, what you're
ready to think. Of those who remain. The departing
and those who accompany them. Of things good and evil made,
the silence of the drums, and the silence of the drums.
Famine of sin, the fire, the amazement and blue.
Hungry for me, you. With fury. Future. And things
who do not know or find their way. Of which
They pray, of singing, of those who follow the stars
and looking at the past on the shoulders of a time
seeking himself. Hunger coastal oceans,
the hunger of the forest men and white birds
married to the sea.
