Eugène-Alexis Girardet, was born in Paris on May 31, 1853 in a family whose long livelihood had been based on painting, engraving and lithography. All of his uncles, cousins and siblings, as well as several previous generations of Girardets-were engaged in either engraving or painting.🎨
