when they don't mean to
to please no one,
They get so interesting
and out of the ordinary to always arouse attention.
It's a pity that too often they are tried women,
worn women, tired women,
so tired to carry on
their life as if conceived in solitude.
They gave their hearts too often
as a pledge of love
and have seen it returned in tatters.
They put their souls into relationships of all kinds
and they saw it being torn up without restraint…
They are women of steel
and looking lost in a world of their own.
They stand like rocks in the stormy sea,
they become beacons in the night for ships in distress.
They don't pretend to teach life,
even if they carry life on them
like it's their best dress.
They have awareness
not to own anything or anyone,
and are ready at any time
to let go of everything.
Like trees in autumn,
which they let go silently
the leaves now dry.
They do it lightly and with dignity,
because they know the cycles of life,
because they are aware
that every ending is a new beginning.
Life knows no end, only transformation,
just new beginnings...
