A single mom.
Without drama.
Without victimhood.
Serene for a long time.
And scared every day.
With the constant fear of never being up to it.
Because the criticisms we level against ourselves are always the most ruthless.
But today I would like to give a big hug to all those mothers who really raise their children alone.
Sun, really sun.
Without help.
Sun, even if they are in a couple in which they are invisible.
Sun, always shoulder to shoulder with feelings of guilt for choices made or suffered.
Alone, in hospitals fighting against diseases that no one should have to live with.
Alone, among mistakes that cannot be forgiven.
Sun, with people's judgments that become stab wounds that make the soul bleed.
Sun, every night between tears and uncertain steps into the future.
Sun, with Love overflowing from every gesture.
You feel alone.
I know.
It happens to me too.
Today,
however,
I want to remind you that you are SUN:
shine,
warmed with the sweetness of a hug,
shed light in the darkness of every tear.
Breathe Moms.
You are LIGHT.
The same that I wish you in every smile and in every step...
