squeezed between the dry walls of the gorge.
Hide that I'm afraid you don't want me
and build my courage

Every time I see you.
Hiding the face in the appearance of a smile
that lights up only for a moment
like a will-o'-the-wisp
and then it vanishes inconsistent, forgotten
therefore never existed.
Hide your dead and empty hands,
trembling with the shame of not belonging to you.
Hide that I love you
like it was my first and last day on earth.
Hide the anguish that takes me to see you
and not to see you.
Hide the courage to hurt myself
just to save me from you who are harmless
only for those who have not met you.
Hide unnecessary and painful gestures for your absence
too much to not be there at all.
Hide the urge to kiss you
so treacherously,
and leave you unseemly marks
that you would never know how to explain
