The U.S. House of Representatives Approves $500 Million in the 2026 Defense Budget to Aid Taiwan!
The U.S. House recently passed the Fiscal Year 2026 Defense Appropriations Bill, which includes a clear allocation of $500 million for the Taiwan Security Cooperation Initiative. With the approval of the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of State, these funds will be used to provide Taiwan with newly procured defense equipment, military education, and training to help strengthen its self-defense capabilities.
The White House Office of Management and Budget has also strongly urged Congress to consider increasing aid to Taiwan to $1 billion, demonstrating the U.S. commitment to supporting Taiwan in deterring threats from Beijing. Former Pacific Command operations chief Montgomery stated, “Taiwan is too small to face Beijing’s challenge alone; the U.S. must maximize military aid.”
In addition, a Taiwan-related amendment proposed by Republican Representative Tiffany was passed by unanimous consent in the House, requiring the U.S. Department of Defense to use honest maps that do not include Taiwan as part of China’s territory.
Thanks to the strong backing of the U.S. and international friends, Taiwan will remain steadfast in defending freedom and peace!
