A world that has gotten out of hand, that we no longer feel as “ours”.
Where everyone plays but no one wins.
Where we have more and more ways to express our opinions, but in reality we count less and less.
Where we despair when we lose our mobile phones, but we don't notice when we lose our dignity and our values.
Where we have thousands of virtual friends but after we turn off the computer we sometimes feel terribly alone.
A world where we virtually know people living on another continent, but sometimes we don't know our neighbors or co-workers.
Where things of value dominate, but where true values matter less and less.
Where appearing matters much more than being,
where quantity abounds but quality is scarce ...
Where things are made to last a short time and nothing is fixed anymore.
Because everything, even people, has become "disposable".
We live in a world where love is selfishly needed only to have and never to give ...
Where sensitive people are the favorite victims of cynical, narcissistic and evil people.
Where we are all always running but we don't get anywhere, almost like hamsters in their cages.
That's why we need to stop, to get out of this kind of hectic amusement park, to regain possession of our life and our time.
Because the world can only change if we ourselves change; no one else can do it for us.
To understand that a friend's smile is better than a thousand "I like" a post, and that the internet is an important thing, but even more important is listening to a friend or loved one.
We must be aware that life is not eternal and if we have to say "I love you" to a person, or "I love you" to a friend, or ask "sorry" to a person we have wronged, we must do it today, without ever waiting for tomorrow.
We must rediscover the value of kindness and learn to look at less things but look at them better, abandon the quantity and choose quality.
We have to go back to simplicity, because it's the simple things that give life a good flavor. Because it is only in simplicity that there is depth, that there is the essence of things. It's all there ...
We must understand that small things and small gestures are precious and extraordinary.
